Non-vascular interventional radiology procedures:

1. Biopsy:

A procedure where a small sample of tissue is removed from a suspicious area for examination under a microscope.
Areas: Thyroid, Breast,lung, liver, pancreas, kidneys, mesentery.
Modalities: USG and CT guidance.
Special procedure: TRUS guided prostate biopsy, transvaginal ovarian fnac/biopsy

2. Drainage:

A procedure where fluid or abscess is removed from a body cavity using a needle or catheter.
Areas: soft tissue (beast, subcutaneous etc.) Pleural, peritoneal, liver abscess, pancreatic collection, perirenal collections.
Modalities: USG and CT guidance.

3. Biliary Drainage:

A procedure where a catheter is placed in the bile duct to relieve obstruction or infection.
Modalities: USG and CT guidance

4.Cholecystostomy:

A procedure where a catheter is placed into the gallbladder to drain it.
Modalities: USG and CT guidance
